Montana Republicans could be saving Montana Democrats

Here in Montana, much like the rest, got redder this past election cycle. Both legislatures have Republican majorities, and their agenda will be passed on to our Governor Brian Schweitzer's desk to be vetoed. Thankfully....

Of the many terrible plans, which include restricting voting accessibility and repealing voter passed Medical Marijuana laws, Montana Republicans are passing an eminent domain law that grants companies (even the foreign variety) the ability to seize property for large scale power projects.

This project is called the MATL. Google it. The primary result for this massive power transmission line is to build wind farms.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.

But windmills are, like, our thing, right?

Well, windmills should be our thing, and since its kind of our thing, we need to take this thing, and run with it. Because Montana Republicans could be saving Montana Democrats, indeed even Democrats nationwide, with helping to stimulate windmill and other renewable energy growth. Yes, I said help and Republicans in the same sentence.

Whether we like it or not "image" is everything. And the image is that windmills is a LIberal thing and we need to take it, whenever it comes. Much like Republicans can bash Obama's economic plan then take credit for ALL small business growth despite their voting records, Democrats need to bash the Rs stance against stealing farmer's land, and then steal every tidbit of renewable energy growth when the windmills start growing.

2012 might be the right time to run with it.

I'm talking to you Jon Tester. And whoever steps up to the governor race plate....ahem, Dave Wazenried.

What better way to separate yourself from a firefighter suing, millionaire, out-of-state born, life-long politicians then talking about Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.

Even if its Republicans that are creating them.

That was my first diary. Imma keep them short. I will write my next diary once I get 30 people to vote on my poll. Thanks for reading!
